Four doctor appointments in less than a month is the reason why little Macy is eating Oreos. Why you ask? Because her mommy feels guilty :) She has had a rough January and February with bad rashes because of dry skin and a cold that will not leave. We have tried sooo many different types of skin lotions for the little munchkin's dry skin and none of them seem to work. So, finally after being to the doctor twice for her rashes he has prescribed 3 prescription lotions that we are to use. They have made an amazing difference! We need to use them every night or her rash will come back, but at least it stays away. She developed a cold about 2 weeks ago and can't seem to get rid of it. So, we went back to the doctor again yesterday because I was getting worried since it had been over 2 weeks. Her yucky cold now has turned into a sinus infection. Thankfully, though her ears and lungs are good. Just her nose and throat are irritated. So, now we are on an antibiotic. I really wish pediatricians would have frequent flyer cards...or frequent visit cards like the airlines. After so many visits, you get one free or get bonus points to get something fun :) I guess one advantage to going to her pediatrician 4 times in 1 month is Macy being much more comfortable there. She used to know right when we get off the elevator and walk into the waiting room we were at her doctor's office and start crying. She would cry the entire time we were there even when her doctor would say "bye." He always thinks it is so funny how she is crying but still waving and trying to smile at him. But, I will say this month she has become quite comfortable going. Yesterday she was even laughing as he checked her ears...I couldn't believe this was my child...laughing while the doctor was checking her ears. Before I would have to lay her on the table and actually lay on her to hold down her arms and legs so the Doctor could look into her ears without getting a black eye :) Macy is a creature of habit....she is very timid and unsure of new things. So, I guess when we only went to the doctor once every 3 months, she wasn't used to it, but now I think she thinks it is part of our weekly routine! I'm sure hoping now that we have all the prescriptions we need, we won't be back until her wellness visit for two! Ok, now to the oreo part. We don't give Macy a lot of sweets, but I feel like she deserves a little treat because every night she has to go through a 20 minute ordeal to get ready for bed. Bath, 3 Special lotions, eye drops, nasal drops, nasal aspirator, and now antibiotics...then an OREO!! She is such a good sport...she doesn't fight us and if you do something out of order she lets us know :) And, don't worry after the oreo we do brush her teeth!
